I'm not sure if this means it's time to call child protective services, but Max and Tyler wore their first pair of shoes this weekend! See, we didn't really leave the house when they first came home on oxygen and monitors, and then it was hot all summer and they rarely wore socks, let alone shoes. But now it is getting cold and their little toes need some protection. So we broke out their cool New Balance sneakers, compliments of my friend Stephanie and her family. Aside from the fact that they can't stand up yet, they definitely looked like little boys!
My thought process after seeing them in shoes definitely shows that I'm a mother of twins. After my initial reaction of "Oh how cute!," I immediately thought, "Oh no, another thing to add to our getting-ready process." You see, the boys are becoming much more mobile these days and changing their diapers and clothes has now become a game of "hurry and distract one baby long enough to change his diaper before the other baby rolls away." It can certainly be amusing, but you can imagine how adding two pairs of shoes into the mix might make me want to keep them in just socks forever. :)

Happy Thanksgiving!
Those are the cutest pictures! Can't get over how adorable they are--I'm sure they can be little devils too :) Miss you guys!
When I look at the big smiles on the faces of Max & Tyler I cannot help but remember how much Bridget used to smile as a little one (and still does). Our dear friend Cliff Courtney used to call her Smiley! We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. When I start to get sad because this will be the first Thanksgiving that we have not been together, I will remember your smile and see the smiles on the faces of these miracle babies. I know that you and Andy will be enjoying this Thanksgiving with them, and best of all, Sam and Linda will be there to envelop you four with their big South Bend smiles and unending love (and Linda's extraordinary cooking talents).
Happy Thanksgiving!
Dad
Happy Thanksgiving Jones'!! The boys are getting so big, and I'm sure this holiday season will be extra special for your family. You are still often in our thoughts and we love to see the smiles on Max and Tyler's faces.
