Maisie - 9 and 10 months

Since I never got around to posting Maisie’s 9-month picture, here is a double edition of monthly shots. She is so much fun and is developing quite the personality. She is still as chill as ever but loves to be in on the action (especially with her brothers) and doesn’t like to stay still for too long (as you will see from the chair pics below). She’s still just army crawling, but can move from one end of the house to the next in no time at all. (Interesting note: Max and Tyler started crawling on hands and knees at 10 months/7 months adjusted. They really were amazing preemies!) She waves all the time, and will even start waving if you just say, “Hi Maisie.”  She’s been saying “da da da” for several months and just started saying “ma ma ma” too (not necessarily in reference to us, but it’s still pretty cute to hear). She started eating table food about a month ago and eats anything and everything -- unlike her brothers who are total birds. She will probably outweigh them before long!

She is the grabbiest thing in the world and has a strong grip. A few weeks ago, she was standing in her exercauser and pulled my laptop off the table and onto the floor. I’m very curious to see what types of activities she gets involved with in the future because she is very good with her hands. From the day she was born until she was several months old, she held her hands together, fingers-crossed, every time she nursed. Now she finds the tiniest specks of dirt on the floor and picks them up with her little pincers (and automatically puts everything in her mouth). A pretty general rule-of-thumb is that if she has something in each hand (pacis or toys or cups or whatever), she will be content.

This year has flown by and I cannot believe we are less than 2 months away from Maisie’s first birthday! I really can’t explain how different everything is this time around. I feel like we spent so much of the first year of Max and Tyler’s lives just waiting for the next milestone (and hoping things would get easier!). It was such a stressful and challenging time, and being first-time-parents added some anxiety too. But with Maisie, I just want time to stop! But until I figure out a way to do that, I’ll just try and enjoy the ride... and continue to take lots and lots of pictures.

Looking about 10 years old at the zoo. Her hair is getting pretty long and hangs down in her face if it's not held back. We can't use bows anymore because she takes them out immediately and puts them in her mouth, so we've been doing little ponytails.

She held her hands like this for several minutes while swinging

Like I said, completely content with something in each hand. Especially her pacis - she's obsessed!
