Man oh man, Maisie is 6 months old already! Unbelievable. Literally the day after I wrote her 5 month post about how she was still waking up to eat once a night, she started sleeping all night. She usually goes to sleep around 8pm and sleeps until anywhere between 5am and 7am (she goes back to sleep if it's early and is never up for the day until at least 7:30 or 8am). Very exciting! Along with sweet potatoes, she's also eating green beans, bananas, and prunes... and she can't get enough. She's started whining when she's hungry for real food, and you can't even get the spoon in her mouth quick enough! At her 6-month appointment, she weighed 14 lbs 13.5 oz (25%) and was 27 inches long (90%)!! Our pediatrician found it very interesting that Andy and I were both late bloomers since Maisie is now in the 90% for length.
Max and Tyler are at a great stage, and they are so funny lately too. Everyone told me 3 is a more challenging age than 2, but I totally disagree. Yes, they have their moments and throw tantrums and want to do things their way; but they also understand discipline, and I can actually calm them down and reason with them when they are fighting or acting up. And the whining has decreased a ton over the past few months too. One example of why 3 is better 2: Andy and I took them to the Children's Museum right before Christmas (fyi: bad idea to go when all of the schools are out for xmas break...), and it was a disaster. They were overwhelmed and had a hard time sharing with other kids and threw fits when we left. But I've taken all 3 kids by myself in the past month or so, and it's been great. They had an awesome time and behaved really well, and it was surprisingly enjoyable for all of us. And when they started to get upset when it was time to leave, I explained that we could come back anytime with our special member card -- and they were okay with that. Now that's something that never happened when they were 2!
One funny story: a few nights ago after we put M&T to bed, we heard a lot of chatter coming from their room. Tyler was singing (extremely loudly) the theme song to one of their favorite shows, Jungle Junction, while Max yelled repeatedly, "Stop!" It went on for probably 10 minutes, but I guess they both got bored and went to sleep. Never a dull moment!

Love those kids and I've never even met them!!
It's so fun to see someone going through the "same" sort of things that I am...what a blessing we've both been given!
And I just have to say that I'm really jealous that Maisie is sleeping through the night...Drake still wakes up every 2 1/2 - 3 hrs...yuck!
Take care!
Terri
