Birthday Boys!

To my little boys on your 2nd birthday,

Max and Tyler - I just cannot believe that you are two years old! You have brought so much fun and laughter into our lives, it is hard to imagine life before you. Two years ago, when you weighed 2 lbs and were struggling to survive in the NICU, the doctors and nurses kept saying that even micro preemies like you usually catch up developmentally by the time they are 2 years old. Although I never believed them, they were right. You are both so smart and talk up a storm already, repeating everything you hear and pointing out every object you recognize. You are best buddies and play so well together (most of the time...), laughing at each other, giving high fives in the car, playing peek-a-boo in your tent, chasing each other up and down the hallway, and a million other things that give Dada and me the best feeling in our hearts.

Although the time has come to (very sadly) give you each a little more space with a second crib, you have shared one crib for two years. And take this as your warning: the million pictures of the two of you snuggling in your crib over the past two years will resurface... probably at a perfect time like your high school graduation or wedding rehearsal dinners.

You are both acting every bit your age these days, throwing screaming tantrums one minute and laughing at who-knows-what the next. Even though my days require many, many deep breaths, I know that this phase will pass... and all too quickly. You are both growing and changing every day, and there are so many moments that I wish I could just bottle up and remember the feeling forever.

We love you boys more than you'll ever know and are so proud of the little men you are becoming. The bond you two have is incredible to watch, and we feel so lucky to share this journey with you. You were blessed to be born as twins with a built-in soul mate from day one. And although you will probably share many things in your life, please know that each of you has your very own special place in our hearts.

Happy 2nd Birthday, Tyler and Max!!

Happy 2nd Birthday!
It seems like decades ago, and only yesterday, that you were fighting to stay alive in that NICU in Nashville. What a miracle you are!
You are blessed with the most loving and caring parents who adore you but will lead you along the right path and always protect you.
Bridget your words usually bring a tear (or two hundred) to my eyes. Today you really got them flowing quickly. What a wonderful tribute to your beautiful boys! I am so proud of them as my grandsons and so proud of you as my daughter.
Thank you. Thank you.
Love,
Dad/Big Jim

Max & Tyler, Happy Birthday from Granpa and Nana. Your Mama has given you and all of us a wonderful gift through her story telling of your amazing journey through these two years of your life. Someday you will realize what little miracles you are and that your lives are a reminder to all of how precious life is at all stages. You have brought us much joy and blessings!
Love You!!

Happy Birthday to my favorite twins. I second everything your grandparents said so beautifully. You are two amazing little miracles. And so lucky to have the best parents in the world. And your mama always has me crying when she writes about her little blessings. So excited to see you on your second birthday!
