20 Months Old!

Tyler and Max are 20 months (+ a week or so) old! They are doing great and their personalities continue to develop every day. This is a really fun stage because they are so actively engaged in everything and love new experiences; however, to say they are "asserting their independence" is putting it very nicely. :) One of their favorite phrases is "Get down" as they never want to stay put for very long. They know what they want and if they can't have it, they sure don't hold back their frustration. If only we could decode whining we'd be in good shape!

It is really hard to believe that M&T are less than 4 months away from being 2 years old. It started to hit me when I found myself saying in conversation "They will be two in February" rather than stating how many months old they are. As if you couldn't tell by the absence of a new post in 2 weeks, they are keeping us very busy! I'm not sure this whole twin thing is getting any easier, but it sure is fun. I doubt any stage will ever compete with the difficulty of those first several months home from the hospital, but it seems like just when we think we have the hang of things, it changes! We love it though and wouldn't trade this experience for the world.

There is so much I could write about the boys, but in the interest of actually posting something before the boys turn two, here are some pictures and a video. Enjoy!

Tyler (left) and Max (right) are 20 months old! As always, here are the rest of the monthly chair pics.

Finally with 2 identical basketballs!

Reading the paper

Oh yes, they are still sharing one crib!

They can even squeeze into one Pack 'N Play when we travel!

Finally, a short video of our chatty guys:

Well the wait was definitely worth it, Bridge!
What a great post. The boys look so grown up in that first photo in the chair! And, I love that they still get cozy and snuggle in bed together. They look so much happier with their very own basketballs.
Their 2nd birthday will be very fun. It is a long way back to the days in the NICU at Baptist Hospital in Nashville, isn't it?
Love,
Dad/Big Jim

Bridge, thanks for the post! It made my day to see Max and Tyler's smiling faces! I agree with Jim - the boys look SO big and grown up in their chair picture. Now that we're moms we can say things like "they grow up so fast!" which is definitely the case - just can't believe that M&T are almost 2and Alex is almost 1. Things are going to crazy at the Jones house over Christmas :) Can't wait!

SOOO cute! I love the sleeping in the crib. It looks like they just flopped down next to each other.

I LOVE how clearly the words "get down" come out. They learn quickly the words that are important to them, like "get down" "no" "mine" etc.
They are adorable :)
Love you

I love it! They really do look SO old in the chair pic. That is crazy.

I love that they still sleep together in that tiny crib and pack-n-play. That has to be a close to a record, right? Someone with twins told me the other day that she kept her girls so long sleeping together...6 months!

Next step: double bed to share!

Keep the videos coming!

Miss you guys!!

Does Tyler not like to wear the same shoes? I noticed he was mismatched in the chair pics.

Haha - thanks for pointing that out, Chris! I meant to mention it but forgot. Tyler really wanted to put that sandal on and refused to take it off. Like I said... asserting their independence...
