When a baby is crying, what is the first thing most people want to do? Pick him up and comfort him, of course! Well what can ya do when your baby lives in an isolette? Unfortunately, not a whole lot. Max was extra fussy today and kept crying while I was there. I hated seeing him crying and wanted so badly to pick him up! Even though I'm pretty sure he was crying because he hadn't eaten in 24 hours (his feedings were stopped because of the PDA medication), I still felt like maybe he would be all better if his mamma just held him. Luckily for him (and especially for me) even the tiniest of babies can still use a pacifier!

Bridge & Andy:
Just LOVE your blog titles that completely capture the over-riding feeling of the visit. Each trip to NICU must fill you with a flood of emotions. You let us share your dominant sense of that day, and every day is so different. Of course, we fill in our own feelings too. Pride, awe, hope, wonder, tenderness, and of course overwhelming love are just a few of the ones that come immediately to mind. Throw in a few well placed tears and we have our own drama/comedy/mystery movie to watch. There was nothing to compare on the Academy Awards, that's for sure. Give me Double Vision any day of the week!
Max will find his thumb, and probably as soon as you hold him, Bridge. After all you certainly did!
Love,
Dad/Big Jim
Aw he's holding on to it! Look how little that pacifier looks next to his teeny tiny head. I'm glad you were able to help in a way that's allowed right now, Bridge! :)
You Dad says everything that we are all thinking !! The boys are so cute!!
All our Love,
