Maisie had her first birthday on October 20th... and it was a bit of a
bust. We had a small family birthday party planned for the Saturday
before her birthday, but she decided to barf the night before, so we had
to cancel it. Turns out she had a horrible stomach bug, which she
decided to share with the rest of us. We ended up going out for pizza on
her birthday night (5 days later), but Maisie cried most of the time and didn't even
have birthday cake, Max ate absolutely nothing at dinner, and Tyler
ended up putting himself to bed as soon as we got home. Talk about a fun
night! She did eat a tiny bit of a cupcake the morning of her cancelled
party, so at least we have that going for us.
Oh well, Happy Birthday to the happiest girl in the world. We love you, Maisie!

She wasn't quite sure what to do and decided to just dive right into it

Mmmmmm

Ok, no? Now what?

Get in my belly

Funny side story: Kelly, Adam, and Alex mailed a birthday gift and card to Maisie a few days before her "party," which we put on top of the piano for safe keeping. Well not long after it arrived, we came into the living room to find this -- Max and Tyler had opened the card and then found scotch tape and taped it shut. You'd think they would have opened the present instead!

NOT sure what I enjoyed me...Maisie's adorable smile in the first photo, or the tapped envelope. THAT made me laugh out loud. Double Trouble. :)
I'm with Jenny on the envelope cover-up. That is classic. But Maisie IS the happiest baby I have ever seen...and why not. She was born into an exceptionally beautiful and loving family, and she has two big brothers who do, and will, keep her always entertained!
Love and Happy 1st Birthday, Miss Maisie!

I laughed several times reading this and looking at the pics. Her head-first dive is so precious and I m just amazed the boys knew to retape the card. How do kids learn that kind of stuff??? What a hoot!
