Earlier this week, Max and Tyler decided that instead of sleeping, it would be more fun to play on each others beds. It started during nap time on Monday (the day after Halloween) and I walked in their room to find both of them playing on Tyler's bed. Max brought over his pillow, blanket, dog, and little blankie and they were just having a great ole time. I told them it was nap time and they needed to sleep, to which Max replied, "But Mama, we're playing in our rocketship!" I got Max back in his bed, told them it was time to sleep, and closed the door. Not a minute later, I heard them talking and laughing again. Since they weren't being too wild or fighting or anything, I decided to let them play a little in hopes of them taking a longer nap once they eventually settled down. Well after 25 minutes, they were still playing (both of them in Tyler's bed again) so I decided to put their leftover Halloween candy to good use. I brought both of their pumpkin buckets into their room and told them that if they didn't go right to sleep, I was going to give their candy to some other kids who were good and listened to their mom. Max immediately went to his own bed, laid down facing the wall, and they both went right to sleep. :)
Success. Well... for the time being.
That night they did the same thing at bed time and were both playing in Max's bed this time. After the 2nd or 3rd time of telling them sternly it was time for bed, they finally quieted down and went to sleep. That night we went to check on them before we went to sleep, and here's what we found:
Tyler had climbed back into Max's bed and they were sleeping head-to-head. A little reminiscent of this photo, don't you think?:
I have no clue when Tyler climbed in bed with Max since they were completely silent after the last time we separated them, but regardless, it made our hearts melt.
They've continued to play in each others beds at nap and bed time, but we've eventually gotten them to stay in their own beds. Until last night, when we found this:Back together again, but this time in Tyler's bed. We kept them in the same bed for a little while, but after seeing Tyler's legs completely on top of Max's head, we decided to separate them for the night. Oh well, as long as they continue to sleep 11ish uninterrupted hours every night and 2-3 hours at nap time, they can snuggle as much as they want!
Here are a few pics of them playing one day at the end of nap time:

Oh Bridge, what a perfect pictorial tribute to the closeness and love Max & Tyler share so well. I am still amazed every time I watch them interact. Love your commentary and observations and thank you for continuing to include all of us who can't wait for the next posting. How lucky is Maisie to be blessed to be part of your beautiful family.
Love,
Dad
What a couple of goofballs! They are so funny and I am glad they've rediscovered their love for a good snuggle!
Oh what a good time was had by all of us reading about the boys! Their innocence and sweetness is so precious.
Love,
Leslie
