Party Pics!

Tyler and Max had a great 1st birthday and want to thank everyone for the birthday wishes and cards and gifts! We celebrated their birthday the Sunday before the big day because Andy's mom and his sister Kelly and her baby Alex came in town to visit for the weekend. Since we are still being extra careful about germs until RSV season is over in April, we decided to keep it to a small group -- which was really just perfect. It was our first time meeting baby Alex too and he is the cutest and best baby ever!

The boys had their 1 year pediatrician appointment on Thursday and their doctor is very pleased with their development. He said that even if they were born full-term, he would be happy with where they are as 12 month olds! They look for babies to be walking by 15 months, so we still have 3 months to get there. The boys are still small for their real age, but they are definitely catching up. They are both 27.5 inches long (2nd percentile) and almost 18 pounds -- Tyler is 17 lbs 13 oz and Max is 17 lbs 14 oz (both 1st percentile). At least they are on the charts though :) We are trying to work more finger food into their diets, but both boys have a wonderful trick of gagging until they puke when they eat something they don't like. At this point, they don't like anything chunky so we're moving really slowly to try food with new textures. They love fruits and veggies and yogurt though, which is what they'll be getting until they quit with the gagging! We are also supposed to keep them on formula for another 2 months rather than switching them to whole milk at 12 months (when full-term babies typically switch).

Overall the boys are doing great and our 1 year olds are growing up fast! Here are a ton of pictures from the celebration.

The rest of the party! Aunt Kelly, Cousin Alex and Nana

As previously mentioned, they don't eat much finger food yet -- but they ate a little bit of icing!

The boys just learned how to give High Five - Max looks happy

Tyler just wants to get the cake part over and open some presents!

"Where's Max" book from Aunt Katie!

A picture with Nana on the porch because it was 60 degrees out!

Since we didn't get to hold Max and Tyler when they were first born, I wanted a picture with the replica dolls (made by Nana that are the same size as Max and Tyler when they were born).

And here are some pictures with Cousin Alex:

Max and Tyler loved Alex and would attack him whenever he was in his chair

Tyler crawled up and stole Alex's pacifier right out of his mouth and stuck it in his own!

Trying to get a group shot in their Notre Dame hooded sweatshirts

Alex smiling at Uncle Andy

Finally, here's a self-taken picture with the boys on their actual birthday! Cheeseball Tyler on the left, Max on the right.

Great photos! Those cousins will have tons of fun together over the years. Lots of smiling going on in Nashville. Hope not to miss any more birthday parties for Max & Tyler! Can't wait to get a high five from the boys!
Love,
Dad/ Big Jim

THESE ARE WONDERFUL PICTURES ! Some of my favorites because they represent the fact that we are out of the woods and into the sunny meadow with our grandchildren. Linda (Nana) and I remember (as if it were yesterday) reaching inside the Isolets-just to touch you M and T. Many times last year we told your Mom and Dad how fast time will go--its only started. Wait till you're tearing around the house being boys--remember, Patience is a virtue.
