As of yesterday, Max and Tyler are 7 months old! I know I will be saying this until they are 18 years old but I can't believe how fast they are growing up. They even started eating rice cereal this week too! They both spit out the majority of it but we think they swallowed a few bites. At least it's a start!
We also had an initial evaluation with Tennessee Early Intervention Services (TEIS), a government program that the boys automatically qualify for since they were born before 28 weeks gestation. Based on their individual needs, we will set developmental goals for each boy and someone will probably come to our house once a week and make sure they are on track to catch up developmentally. The girl who came this week checked things such as their reaction to noises, how well they followed objects, and if they could grasp and reach for things. We will go over the detailed evaluation report next week but she seemed to think both boys were doing just fine. One advantage for us is that they will show us specific activities to do with the boys that will help with their development, which I'm really looking forward to learning. Depending on how quickly they advance, they could be eligible to participate in this program until they are two years old.
Nothing else too exciting to report from us. Have a great weekend!

Bridge & Andy:
Those days, months and years sure do fly by. You got that right. These days are so dramatically different from those first days when swallowing oxygen was their biggest challenge. So for the boys, and for their parents, swallowing cereal must seem like a walk in the park by comparison.
I am still amazed at what it must be like to always have someone who you know will be right by your side, and who looks just like you. It is beautiful to watch. Thanks for sharing and keep those blog updates coming.
And another milestone for Max & Tyler today is watching their first Notre Dame football game!
Love to you all,
Dad/Big Jim
We're sure it must have been Max and Tyler's wailing in the fourth quarter that finally got the Irish on trock against San Diego State !! I don't blame you boys--if Nana fed me that stuff, I'd have the same reaction. The joining of the Maguire's and Jones's have brouht so many blessings to us all. Love Granpa Sam
