I had the rare treat of a weekday visitor as my dad was in town from Monday until Wednesday. Andy was out of town for work so Big Jim decided it was a great opportunity to keep me company. We had an awesome time and it went by way too quickly! We had great food, took tons of walks, watched lots of baseball and even took the boys to their first restaurant for lunch one day!
My dad took me to my first Chicago Cubs' game when I was 5 years old. Every year since then we have tried to make it to a game - and we've made it almost every year (minus a few years around high school when apparently life was too busy for baseball...). For obvious reasons, a trip to Chicago didn't quite fit into the schedule this summer - and of course this is the year they have the best record in baseball! Although we didn't get to cheer on the Cubs from Wrigley Field this year, we did manage to have a great few days hanging out. Thanks for a wonderful visit, Dad. Next year we will definitely make it back to Chicago!
This is not the best picture but the boys had on their Cubs onesies and socks that our friend Tony sent right when we found out we were pregnant.

What a wonderful visit it was for me too. I'm sorry Andy was out of town and our paths never crossed but the time alone with you and the boys was just very special. It was a very good substitute for our annual Chicago trip, which we will renew in 2009. Maybe one day we will take Max & Tyler with us, since they already appear to be Cubs' fans.
Love,
Dad/Big Jim
So great that you and Jimbo were able to have some nice quality time together with the boys!
Max and Tyler looked like they could get used to the restaurant eating :)
Uncle Alan Nelson will sure love it if M & T become big CUBS fans !!
The smile on Jim'sface tells how much he cherished his one on one time with you all. Moments like that live forever in our hearts.
The word verification thing on this blog always looks like its out of a Dr Suess book.
Sorry--that last message was from G-PA Sam.
