Home Sweet Home

Well, we made it! Our "Rooming In" went well last night and we even got a few hours of sleep ;) Max and Tyler are doing great... asleep at the moment in their OWN HOME! It is absolutely surreal but we are loving every minute. We cried several times throughout the day when we had to say goodbye to our amazing doctors and nurses. As much as we have been waiting in anticipation for this day, it was hard to leave these people who have been such a huge part of our lives for the past 9 1/2 weeks. Luckily our nurses Edra and Karen both said they would come see us sometime soon, and of course we will go back to visit the NICU when the boys get a little bigger.

We are so very blessed and realize what an amazing gift this experience has been. As tough and unfair as it seemed at times, we really cannot imagine it any other way. And now the fun really begins as Max and Tyler continue their journey at home with mom and dad!

Walking the boys to our room down the hall. They finally got to use the big crib too!
Back in a hospital room at Baptist. Much better this time around than a few months ago!
April 10, 2008: Going Home Day! Tyler (left) and Max (right) in outfits from Big Jim

Max ready to go

Tyler ready to go. If they both look chubbier it's because they are - Tyler is 4 lbs 10 1/2 oz and Max is 4 lbs 8 1/2 oz!

Almost time to leave the NICU

A baby for each of us

Now with their oxygen tanks and monitors in hand

Of course I had to sit in the back seat with them

Driver Andy went nice and slow - with the hazard lights on the whole way ;)

Home at last!

Hanging out on their boppys in the living room

Their living room "bed"

How amazing to have them right next to us all the time!

That's SO great!! I love all the step by step photos! (and it's hilarious that they don't look as tiny as before in a car seat!) Too precious! Get as much rest as you can!

HOORAY!!!!

I'm so happy for you guys! Life at home with twins is a whirlwind of its own and I know you will cherish every moment with your boys!

You’ll notice that bogging isn’t as easy as it used to be so I hope that you get time to post pictures at least once a week! I love watching them grow!

Take care,
Terri Jo
