Two Pots of Gold

Although this was the first year in quite some time that we didn't celebrate St. Patrick's Day with a green beer or three, we had quite the party in the NICU last night. The nurses were in great spirits as they were enjoying 114 homemade shamrock cookies sent by Andy's aunt Carol. We try to tell the nurses every day how grateful we are for them, but a gesture like this really shows that the appreciation extends beyond just Max and Tyler's parents. Thank you, Carol!

Our nurse Karen surprised us with a photo album she put together with some pictures of the boys.... together in the same shot! She had placed both boys on the scale last week and snapped some pictures of the two of them. Talk about some amazing pictures.... and an amazing nurse going above and beyond, once again. You don't know how much we loved it, Karen.

As cool as the pictures were, it was nothing compared to seeing it all in person. After their evening bath, we put both boys on the scale and got to see them laying next to each other for the first time. We couldn't stop staring (and snapping pictures). It was really one of the neatest things we have ever seen in our lives. After all of the time they have spent growing and getting stronger on their own, they finally got to be together. And boy are they identical!

As we left the NICU last night, it was obvious that we really are the lucky ones. Sure, things haven't gone as we planned, but all of this was certainly part of a bigger plan. As St. Patrick's Day and Easter fall only a week apart this year, it's hard not to believe that the luck of the Irish and our strength from above might be working hand in hand.

Together at last! (Max on the left, Tyler on the right)

They kept touching and kicking each other

Telling secrets already? They have a lot to catch up on from the past 6 weeks!

A kiss for Tyler from Max

Two Peas in a Pod!

I still have tons of pictures from the weekend with Big Jim, so I will post more later! We hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day!!

I think that it's more appropriate to title this entry as "two little leprechauns." They are looking a little more red headed every day. JK!!! They do sorta look like Andy though now.

I can't wait to meet them!

Oh...my goodness. The most touching and amazing blog post yet, I think. What a great St. Patty's - I don't think this one will be able to be beat, even though next year you'll have a sitter and will be drinking green beer again. :)

I love that they were touching, kicking and kissing with their eyes closed! WOW - what a great St. Patrick's Day gift!!
I'm jealous that Big Jim got to hold those precious ANGELS. Hope he wasn't too nervous, he didn't look like it.
CONGRATS on another great accomplishment.
Love you all
